Cautionary Tales is an experimental art-rock collective based in Berlin, with roots in Aotearoa (New Zealand) and New York City. Fronted by Will Marshall, a songwriter with a swaggering baritone, the band weaves together a rich tapestry of influences, drawing from contemporary art-rock, shoegaze, post-rock, post-punk, Greek mythology, and modernist poetry.

The name "Cautionary Tales" reflects the band's fascination with the ancient tradition of storytelling that warns us “what not to do.” From folklore, to Greek poetry, to modern horror films, these cautionary tales explore the darker and more absurd sides of life — where things can go terribly wrong, or hilariously awry.
